Good evening Travellers,
If you’ve had a rough day, let me be the first to say, it’s all going to work out. And if you are thinking, “How?”
In truth, I have no idea.
Because Bob Marley said so..

Good afternoon Travellers,
Obviously for starters not many humans on Earth will be traveling any great distances for the next several weeks. However I do believe that these circumstances that have presented themselves offer all of us unlimited internal mileage opportunities. As in growth. Or so my optimistic side says, we can as a species grow from this experience. Mostly because I think all the things that we find unpleasant and difficult in life offer us the greatest opportunity to grow, don’t they?
In case you are new here, I live in Kansas and while the city in which I dwell does not currently have any confirmed cases of Corona virus (or what I have affectionately dubbed, “The Beer Virus” because sometimes you can be serious and have a giggle simultaneously), there is a county nearby with 8 confirmed cases. Many people who reside here travel back and forth between the two on a daily basis to work. It’s only a matter of time, right?
Good evening again Travellers,
Last week we had a spell of sunrises and sunsets that just consumed the entire sky with the most extraordinary colors. And the intensity of the colors was just WOW. A visual salve for the soul in these colder temperatures.
Good evening Travellers,
Earlier this morning, I gave birth to a beautiful bouncing baby post. I saw it, held it, heard it and then published it. And then POOF, gone. ALL. GONE.
ALL MY WORDS GONE. All 1500 of them. There is no word to describe how that felt.
Imagine going thru the delivery of your baby, you see your baby, hold it and then, well, NO BABY. In fact, said baby went back into my proverbial belly, or rather mind in this case, awaiting future possible re-delivery. I guess at least I didn’t have to have an episiotomy, am I right?
Good morning Travellers,
I’d like to begin with a little explanation of what this is and what the end goal is.
Because I think it’s advisable to have some sense of direction when setting off on an adventure versus wandering in the desert for a century…
I’m a practitioner of functional movement. Functional movement is using exercise to not only strengthen the body, but to also make us more effective and less strained by everyday life tasks. The movements are multiple muscle group based, use a good deal of core action and have a practical nature that makes everyday life better.
I’m attempting to apply the idea of functionality to meditation in a similar fashion. My goal is to make it this an accessible and practical skill that will ease the stress of everyday life. Something you could use at anytime, anywhere. Standing up, sitting down, laying down, with music, without music.
Hola Travellers,
It’s Friday and I feel so obligated to share something with you from our morning walk…I’ve never seen anything quite like this and I was barely off the front lawn to take the photo…
It’s like a weird wall of light. I find it rather spectacular. Look at that line of sunshine. So fabulously weird, isn’t it? This planet is awesome, isn’t it?
It’s Friday Travellers,
This has been a rough one. It’s been almost four days since my sprain, and while I’m definitely on the mending road, it’s probably going to be another couple weeks before I am back to my full plyometric strength.
I stood on my front porch this morning, watching the sunrise in the distance. For a brief moment, I felt like it was saying, the world is still out here, waiting for you, but let’s be honest, the world stops for no woman. It was a really good one too. The clouds looked like rippled sheets across morning’s bed of a sky. The little waves were tinged with reds and pinks against the periwinkle blue. Even now it’s quite lovely…
Happy lunchtime Travellers,
It’s a holiday weekend in the States, so I’m off work for 4 whole days. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with myself, but I’ve decided I’m going to try and break my weekend routine and do something new. Which is difficult for me, as I’m a creature of carefully constructed reassuring habits…
I do enjoy abandoning the awareness of time and it’s passing. One of the loveliest things is to move thru the space of a day without it’s measure, do you know I mean? When you have time without it being under the dominion of work, chores, life…it’s a gift.
Good morning Travellers,
Guess what? You’ll never guess…We had an amazing walk. AGAIN. I know it’s ridiculous how good something so simple can be. This morning there was a symphony of birds singing, birds I’ve never heard before, seriously and owls hooting and of course that rooster crowing. Even a few members of the late night bug symphony were still playing…
There was a moment at the halfway mark of our walk where I stopped to turn around and just soak it in. The fog bank was nestled up against the tree line and the sky was light blue with a few small clouds. Someone cut the grass last night, so there were little pieces of grass on all of our legs. HEAVEN.
Welcome to the weekend Travellers,
If you thought I forgot this thread I started to spin a week ago, I did not in fact, there were just other thoughts that arrived before this one fully formed itself. Others ideas and feelings that needed to get out of me. I find some ideas and thoughts are bossier than others in my mind if you know what I mean. Such is the nature of the muse…
I’m going to limit this to a top 15 kind of situation, because I’m sure I could go on for eons about all the things we learn from moving our bodies and how they inform our daily lives, but there would many repetitive intersections and I like to keep things fresh. Fresh ideas, fresh produce. And by the way, if I failed to say this before, these are not in order of importance. I think they are all important, it’s again whoever gets to the front of my mental line gets to be heard first.
